The goal of the PALS is to teach health care professionals to recognize infants and children at risk of cardiopulmonary arrest, to provide strategies on prevention of cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children, and to perform the cognitive and psychomotor skills for resuscitating and stabilizing infants and children in shock, respiratory failure and cardiopulmonary arrest.

Prerequisite: | Candidates should possess AHA BLS certification or equivalent. |
Course test | Students are required to complete the precourse self-assessment in the PALS Student Resources available at eLearning.heart.org. Each students must bring a printout of their score, which must be 70% or higher, to the PALS course. Students must also attend and participate in all lessons of the course, pass all practical skills test, and pass the written MCQ examination of score at least 84%. |
*AHA PALS completion card (valid for 2 years) will be issued to participants who passed the examination.
